After 2 years absence I have decided to share with you the wisdom which those 700+ days have enlightened me.

I have been travelling widely throughout my home town. In that time most alleyways have been washed clean by the liberal application of the by-products of The Rifleman, The Spread Eagle and the Queens Arms in which I had many a roll.

You may think I have been wasting that with which I have been fiscally blessed and made a steward of, but you would be not right to think that!
As well as 'oiling' with rights of passage down the alleyways and byways as previously mentioned, I have been oiling the wheels of local trade, industry and service.
The aforementioned hostelries have benefitted, I have shared in cultures of the chinese and indian communities through their eating houses and even shared a kebab or two with the rats that live most of their lives at the nearby Town Hall. I even paid the price of sharing third hand a particulary vile donna, (no sorry that was last night) Doner with the mayor after he had me ejected from a public meeting! Am I not public? Anyway, I was pleased to be able to offer the local jailer some employment for 24 hours.

Back to the oiling of local services; many an ambulance crew is grateful that I gave purpose to their humdrum lives, and kept them in employment a little longer than they deserve after dropping me because I kicked one in the goolies after he tested my knee reflexes!!

Anyway, todays perceived wisdom:

Your mind is like the surface of a lake. It is calm and smooth, until anxious thoughts rush in and ruffle the surface.
Drain that lake my fellow traveller.
Empty your mind.
Where there is no water, there can be bo surface to ruffle.
Where there is no mind there can be no anxiety.
An empty head is the beginning wisdom.
